We still love to snooze in the morning, so it is sometimes hard to get out of bed. After finally making it out of the bed, we went to the breakfast. We loved having toast, jam and egg again for breakfast and no more rice and curry. With at least 5 toasts in our stomach, we went to Bangkok city to our first stop: Wat Pho! It is a huge temple area with a huge reclining Buddha. Unfortunately it was very touristic and crowed. Since Sri Lanka, we enjoy places, with less tourists. In order to get there we took the subway and walked through Chinatown and took the public boats on the river to get there. It was nice at Wat Pho and we took some pictures, as all the other tourists. Sad to say, there are so many people, who do not respect others people culture. So all the tourists are taking pictures in front of the Buddha, which is not liked to be seen. We had kind of problems to find the exit of the temple. Finally we made it and we went on to MBK Shopping Center for lunch, with two girls we met. We can definitely not recommend going there, since it is like a huge bazar and everything you can buy there is fake. However, lunch was nice and we went on to Lumphini Park, which is a huge park, where people do sports, running, workouts, aerobic and so on. Iguanas are walking there free, as well as they have a lot of birds. Actually it is pretty nice staying there and just
relax and take some time off of busy Bangkok.
Yesterday we have already been to the modern Shopping Mall "Terminal 21", where we enjoyed a passion fruit and mango smoothie. Since they were sooooo good, we decided to go there again!!
This was pretty much our first day in Bangkok. So far this is a nice city to stay, but very touristic.

The second day we wanted to explore the culture of Bangkok and therefore we went to see Wat Pho with its reclining Buddha. It is a huge temple area but as well a huge mass of tourists. It was nice to see and impressive as well, but because of the amount of tourists, we did not like it that much. Going back to town, we decided to take the boat. As we waited, we met two girls and the four of us decided to go to another shopping mall, called BMK. This one is more local and like and open air market just with a roof on top. We did not like it that much, since you could buy a lot of fake clothes, rucksacks etc. as well as the Pad Thai in Terminal 21 (the other modern shopping mall) was way better. For the rest of the day we went to Lumphini Park. It is a huge green area in the middle of Bangkok, where you can see iguanas next to people doing their workout.

On our third day in Bangkok we slept pretty long and then went straight to see Niklas, who will join us for the rest of our travels. In mind that we want to go to Chiang Mai, we checked out all the travel agencies for the best deal. Figuring out the cheapest one, we went in and had to choose between two offers:
1.
450 Baht (11,20€) for the bus without toilet and wifi or

2.
470 Baht (11,70€, so 50 Cents extra) including Wifi and toilet.

For sure we took the deluxe version. After the booking we were kind of hungry ad guess where we went for lunch? – Right, Terminal 21 with its awesome Pad Thai and for sure a fruit shake for dessert. Since it was already late afternoon, we decided to go to our hostel, where this evening was a barbecue made for us. We enjoyed hanging out with other people from our hostel and exchanging tips where to go next.
On our fourth and last day in Bangkok we spent the morning in the hostel, preparing for our departure to Chiang Mai later. We met Niklas at 3 pm and went to a great place for having lunch/dinner before our 12 hour bus ride to Chiang Mai. As we were in the bus, we figured out, that there was no difference between the bus for 450 and 470 Baht. But still, we have the deluxe version! The ride itself to Chiang Mai was rough. The AC was on all night and the bus driver was driving like hell. I think that is the reason why we arrived 1,5h earlier than planned.
