Sawaddee ka!

We've arrived in the second country of our travel route. Our flight departed at 1:50 AM but we were at the airport at 7PM and weren't allowed to check in our baggage until three hours before our boarding...
So we bought some food and sat down in a "more quiet" corner of the airport (actually, there is no real silence due to loads of asian travel groups :D )
At 11PM we finally got rid of our baggage and went to our gate. At the security check we had some Cambodian monks in front of us. Typically wrapped in an orange robe and obviously excellent equipped with modern technology. A friendly monk right in front of us carried no bag but two of the latest (most expensive) smartphones. We had lots of bags, an old nokia phone, an iphone and a missing phone...
We thought our flight might take some time so we'd have the opportunity to get some sleep - we were wrong.
Our flight was only about three hours, dinner included. So we arrived in Bangkok, the sun rose and we were ready for our beds. Our hostel is situated a little bit outside the city center and we had to change the train from the airport. As we arrived, other guests had breakfast but we went straight into our room (we have been upgraded from 8 bed dorm to 4 bed dorm, yay) and slept for 3 hours.
Molins phone has been stolen on our last day in Hikkaduwa, so we tried to get a new SIM card for the compensatory phone in big shopping mall. Although we didn't want a shopping mall to be the first thing we have visited in Bangkok, it was the easiest place to reach. As it is Chinese new year, everything is decorated with Chinese objects. It is obvious that at least Bangkok is dominated by oversea Chinese which run the shops and rule the economy.
So we went into that huge shopping mall full of western brands, expensive and chic. We bought a traveler SIM and found a floor full of food booths. Surprisingly, the food was delicious and cheap! We had the national dish (Pat thai: fried rice noodles with vegetables, prawns and peanuts) and a mango juice =)
Afterwards, we went back home and decided to go to bed early.
