As we didn't want to stay longer in Battambang due to the heat there, we decided to escape the cities and went straight to the beach of Sihanoukville.
We had booked a room in advance because we knew that we'd have a late arrival, and yes it tool us more than 12hours to get from Battangbang to Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville. It was a horrible ride but we were welcomed friendly and we could go straight to our room and get some sleep. Our hotel was in the second row on the coast, so not directly at the beach but next to a small lagoon where the local fishermen had their boats. We could choose between laying at the beach, at the pool or on a terrace next to the lagoon.
We always tried to have some variety in our days so we started our days with some yoga/workout at on the lagoon terrace, went for breakfast at the beach, relaxed at the pool over lunch and then went to the beach until sunset.
The beach was beautiful, white sand, crystal clear water and an amazing view on some small islands. The only disadvantage was that you were only able to lay at the beach when you asked for a beach chair in a resort. The whole beach was separated into small sections of different resorts that had all their restaurants directly at the beach. On our first day we fell in love with a restaurant/resort which also attracted people from other beaches to have dinner there. So we enjoyed our breakfast and dinner there every day :P It seems that we sometimes love to get a routine.
The restaurant had brilliant dishes which were a fusion of the western and the Asian cuisine, very delicious! The staff was very nice as well and after some days we were kind of regulars and they knew our preferences (Mango-Banana-Shakes, Chocolate Brownies and Peanut-Chocolate Pancakes <3)
We stayed at Otres Beach 2 until the 27th because a friend of Niklas would arrive on Phu Quoc an that day and we wanted to meet with him there.
