Koh Tao! Well let me think where to start...We arrived from Bangkok via night train and Catamaran. The night train was very good compared to all our other transport. We started in Bangkok at 7pm and like always we were sourrounded by Germans, to friends from Cologne and two students from Karlsruhe, who were talking about their electricity studies the whole time! Thank god, we were having curtains, so we could sleep and did not have to follow these conversation. The beds were quite comfortable (2 seats pushed together) and so we could sleep very well. All the time bord staff was walking around, checking tickets, selling food and waking you up in the morning! We arrived in Chumpron at 5.30 in the morning and had to take a bus to the ferry station. The bus was full of mosquitoes, so everybody was just trying to swat them. The Catamaran ride was very nice and calm and so we arrived at 10am in Koh Tao, welcomed by at least 50 taxidrivers, who wanted to bring us to our Hostel (Good dream Hostel - very good). As we realized that it would be a 45 min walk to our hostel, we had to take an overpriced taxi ride. Since we could not check-in, we had breakfast first. Samathas should be the place were we had breakfast every single morning in Koh Tao! They had awesome pancakes, muesli or waffels...!The rest of the day we went to the beach and just rested and played volleyball. The other day we went to a small island next to Koh Tao, called Nangyuan Island. They say it is the most photographed island in Thailand. Two "mountains" are connected with a beach in the middle. There are no
plastic bottles allowed, but still you can find them everywhere, which is kind of sad. It was great for snorkeling and relaxing. Our watertaxi brought us back at 5pm and we had dinner at a local restaurant, which was very good. The next day we wanted to be more active, so we decided to to Stand up paddling (It is a surfboard and you have a paddle:).. We rented it for two hours and paddled around the bay. The water was so clear that you could observe all the fish in the water. It was really great! In the evening we went to a special restaurant, called Barracuda, which we were told is very good! Actually it was and we really enjoyed it having dinner there. The barracuda fish was excellent! After dinner Molin did not feel great, but we had an US guy as room mate and he said, if you do not feel well, just take antibiotics. Antibiotics is good for everything, if you have a headache, a flew or even when you are hangover - we give it to everyone, chicken, cows and ourselves and look at us, we still smile! And we stood in the door with the biggest smile ever!
The next day we went on to Krabi, on the other side of Thailand.
