After some intensive travel days we wanted to calm down a little bit and stayed in the city.
After breakfast in a local bakery we visited the tooth temple next to the lake in Kandy. We walked around the city and found a beautiful hotel called THE EMPIRE. It was again an old colonial hotel but renewed with lot of love.
We had some tea there and stayed for some hours to check some connections for our next station.

In the afternoon, we picked our bag packs from the homestay and took a tuktuk to our hotel in the mountainside of Kandy.
It took us 30min up the hill – we thought the tuktuk will break because we were so heavy – to Villa Shenandoah.
It is a hotel in the middle of the nature, one big house and some small bungalows. We got a very luxurious bungalow at the end of the area, so we had a free view down to parts of Kandy. We saw many colorful birds while we took a rest on our veranda. Later we had dinner in the main house where we teached the waiter some English and German words.
